Artist Statement

A ginkgo tree has a deep meaning in Asian culture. It has become a symbol of strength, endurance, hope, and peace. I used it in my story as one of the elements to lead my character to pursue her goal, and encourage her to gain freedom and confidence in her journey. The beautiful golden color, the gigantic tree trunk, the legendary longevity, all brings us to celebrate this mysterious and marvelous life.
